What is the definition of "Master Data"?

Master data is data that structures and standardises the key concepts and data classes of a knowledge domain, ensuring consensus among various stakeholders in such a domain for the definitions of these concepts. This involves the large groups of data that have interconnections.

Examples of concepts include healthcare institutions, healthcare providers, locations, data providers, medications, medical instruments, medical conditions (diseases, symptoms, ...), prescriptions, and medical procedures.

These concepts and data classes contain elements/objects that must each have unique identifiers for unambiguous identification.
