What are datasets, and is the HDA responsible for their content?
Datasets can be groups of data used for primary purposes, such as SumEHR or a vaccination register, or they can be included in a database. The definition and proper management of datasets are important for the HDA.
However, the content of these datasets (filled with personal data) is not the responsibility of the HDA. Extraction for secondary use, aggregation, pseudonymisation, anonymisation, linking to reference sources, and ensuring data quality are just a few examples of typical actions that will occur when preparing data for secondary use.
