European Health Data Space
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) is a groundbreaking initiative by the European Union designed to make health data more accessible, secure, and usable across all member states.
It aims to support the sharing of health information to benefit public health, research, policy making and healthcare delivery, healthcare promotion and prevention.
By allowing and enabling health data to flow more freely across borders the EHDS helps to improve the health information system and make healthcare systems smarter, more efficient, and more patient-centered, leading to better outcomes and reduced costs.

Healthcare
of the Future
The Health Data Agency (HDA) is reshaping the Belgian health data landscape with a focus on the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). Introducing a comprehensive data catalog, the HDA tackles challenges in data access, simplifying the process of finding and combining information. Through strong data governance, the HDA ensures a more uniform, trustworthy, transparent, and secure approach to health data.
